emotional topography series
Emotional Topography’ describes a recent abstract series in which I rely on the sure solidity of the land and its processes as a linked counterbalance that allows emotion to flow onto canvas.
As a former geologist, I spent long hours in remote wilderness settings, where I developed a strong respect for how mystery and beauty combine in both the human and natural worlds. This curiosity spurred further schooling and a degree from the San Francisco Art Institute where I pursued my own imagery and abstract expressionist tendencies.
These oil paintings are filled with passion, vulnerability, trust, and exploration.
